Bánh bao ca dé -Sweet dumpling (Custard)

One of my favorite dish for breakfast or mid-day snack is DUMPLING with custard. You can find it from typical Hong Kong bistro/restaurant where they serve Dim-sum for breakfast.

Here in Germany, it’s not easy for me to have it. So, I tried to bake it and this is my first time to do it.

Taste good, the custard is sweet enough but the shell is not soft as the restaurant but at least I had experience for next time.

Cơm tấm Sườn bì chả – Broken rice with grilled ribs, pork skin and sausage

WP_20160615_19_19_08_Pro_Fotor

This is very common dish for breakfast in Vietnam. You can found it easily from the high-class restaurant to street-food courts but the taste is totally different.

The core to make this dish become popular and taste good is Ribs, sausage and fish sauce. And what inside are

  • Grilled Ribs (sườn), I just put a little bit salt, bean sauce, soja sauce, fresh milk and very little honney to get enough burnt color
  • Skin and thinly shredded pork () but here in Germany, I could not get pork skin, so I replace with cellophane noodle. So, I mix all together with powder from fried rice and chopped garlic.
  • Sausage (chả) from chopped pork, salted egg and mushroom. Then mix them all and steam it.

Fish sauce just included garlic, chili, vinegar, sugar and fish sauce. Mix all together you have a mix sauce called nước mắm tỏi ớt.

and my husband like this a lots. Let’s try it

Cá chiên xù – Deep fried fish

This is one of my favorite dishes.

It’s very typical Vietnamese food which you should try. It’s served with rice noodle (bún tươi), vegetable (rau sống), special fish sauce (mắm nêm) with strong smell and I guaranty that if you are not familiar with Asia food..don’t try this, smell of this sauce is terrible as someone said (most of them western!!!!!!!!!!!)

Chao Tom – Fried rolled Shrimp with vegatables

One of my favorite cooking dishes is Shrimp or Pawn (whatever you prefer to call). So, today, I present a dish with the name CHAO TOM. I have no idea why but honestly…I love this one so much and i make me have to try it

because I can not find any sugarcane here in Germany, so I replace with lemongrass stick and it works. The smell and taste from lemongrass will make your meal more delicious and you will ask for more to eat.

Let’s try it

The vegetable is not easy to find here, so I recommend you come to any Asia Shop where they have this specific one for you. If you don’t have these..don’t make it.

and the most important is the sauce…if you are not person dare to try anything or afraid of smelling or tough tasting, I tell you..eat with chili source. And the sauce that you see here is called NUOC MAM, it’s super good to have with this dish.
